The self-etching, self-adhesive Constic allows etching, bonding and filling to be carried out in just one single step. Not only does this save time; it is particularly safe too because potential sources of error are minimised. Post-operative sensitivities are also reduced.
The cone-shaped brush, DMG’s »Clip-on Brush«, makes even deep fissures easier to reach.

Self-adhesive and self-etching

Constic bonds without any other aids – only thanks to its special adhesive molecules. It was developed based on successful bonding systems and can etch enamel and dentine, bond with them like a glass ionomer and also co-polymerise with the composite. The molecules can be made to bond more easily by intensively working Constic in. The self-neutralising acid groups then react with the moist enamel and dentine, forming a durable, tooth-like chemical bond.

Secure bond

Supported by scientific evidence

A study conducted by the State University of New York at Buffalo* shows that Constic delivers very good shear bond strength results on enamel and dentine, with bonding values above those of the other self-etching, self-adhesive flowables tested. Constic achieves very good results both on enamel and dentine compared to the self-etching adhesives used in combination with a corresponding flowable. There are no significant differences in this respect.

The desire to simplify work steps during restorative treatment is greater than ever before, with today’s wide selection of bonding systems with complicated work processes to some extent. Particularly in the case of small Class I restorations, as well as fissure sealing and lining, which can be performed relatively quickly, preparatory steps such as etching and bonding protract the working time. At the same time, the number of possible sources of error increases, since, if certain process steps are neglected, the durability of the restoration can be drastically reduced.

Constic is the self-adhesive and self-etching flowable composite from DMG, which combines etching, bonding and filling in one single step and features superior adhesive strength to enamel and dentine along with good aesthetics.

In the case shown, a small, inadequate Class I restoration on tooth 17 can be seen.
